Destined

(Last book in the Wing's series)

Tamani looked at her gravely, and reached up to touch her hair behind her ear. He hesitated for an instant, then his hands found the sides of her face, pulling her to him. He didn't kiss her, just held her face to his, their foreheads resting together, their noses almost touching.
She hated how much it felt like good-bye.

My Thoughts
This is another one of thoes books I am gald I didn't give up on.  The first book in the series Wings was the first book about faries that I had ever read.  When the main charcter found she had a flower growing out of her back, I nearly stopped reading.  The charcters evolved through the books and I grew to love them.  I am still not convinced that the flower growing out of female faries backs was a good way to go, but over all the series was good.

Laurel
She has really grown since the first book.  I like the fact that she wants to be truthful with her parents no matter what.  She cares so deeply for them.  Destined really shows how much she has grown since the first book when she was a insecure teen girl in a new place.  She really steps up to protect her friends and family and makes some really hard decisions.

Tamani
We were introduced to Tam in the first book as Laurel's "bodyguard" As you read the books you find out that Tam and Laurel were good friends before she was put in the human world and he has had feelings for her ever since.  He does a great job at keeping his feelings at bay.(although you surffer along with him through all the books) Tam was a great 2nd layer to this series.  Just like Laurel had to get used to the idea of being a farie, Tam had to get used to living in the human world to protect Laurel.  Tam is such a torchered soul, happy about the ending, just wish there was more to his story!

David
David fell for Laurel almost the moment he seen her.  I always felt that he was wrong for her.  He seemed too attached and clingy.  In Destined he proved himself to be a great charcter.  He stood up for Laurel even though he knew that he was wrong for her.  In the end I seen David in a whole new light.  David's reaction and descisions at the end of the book really surprised me.  I understand why but *sniff*

Chelsea
Best friend EVER!!!  Chelsea has been a good friend to Laurel through all the books.  She had a crush on David long before Laurel moved to town, but when David chose Laurel over her, Chelsea became best friends with Laurel instead of hate her.  I think that this says a lot about her charcter.  Chelsea really stepped up in this book.  With the best intrest of thoes around her, she put herself in danger many times.  I am happy to see that this charcter got a happy ending!

This book was action packed, with all the events happening just over a few days.  The letter at the end of the book was a nice touch, I just wish there were more.  I would like to have known what happend in Avalon after all was over.  I would have also liked to have just a little more of the story.  Overall I was happy with the ending.  I just hate that it took someone almost dying for it to come out.

Tropical Storm Debby

As you may have seen on the news, my area has been dealing with severe flooding and power outages due to down trees.  Normally a tropical storm would not have been a concern, but Debby lingered, non moving, for 2 days of continuous rain.  My area recieved about 18-22 inches in 72 hours.

Thanks to everyone for your concern!  My home and family are safe.  We had a few trees fall on our land, luckily only the power line suffered.  The power company has not come to remove the trees resting on our line yet.  But after reading that they have removed 132 trees from lines and still working, I guess I understand.

The good news is that I got to read a little.  I was able to finish Aprilynne Pike's last book in the Wings series, Destined!  I will be posting my reveiw soon!

I hope that everyone is having a great week so far!

Happy Reading!

I have been waiting all week for today!  This has been a busy week for me.  I started this blog, worked 40 hours, along with trying to spend time my 3 kids (Morgan, 8/ Aubrey,3/ Ethan, 3) and husband Daniel.  As I started this new blog adventure, I look at MANY other blog to get ideas and gain followers.  I found some great ideas and a wonderful group of people that I hope to have a long lasting friendship with.  I am so excited to be doing this finally! :-) It has been something that I have wanted for a long time, just haven't had the time to get started.  It is amazing how easy it is when it is something that you are passionate about.

Ethereal

I had a really hard time getting into this book at first.  Within the first couple of pages the main charcter's (Skyla) Dad dies, her Mom remarries a monster (not really a monster but horrible guy) and she moves to a house of a murdered girl on an island.  Too much, too soon and seemed way to familiar.  I walked away for a few days.

Finally convienced that I had to read it because I paid for it, I picked it back up and plowed through. After a few chapters reading got easier until I couldn't put it down.  I finshed it that day.

The story slowed down, introduced Logan and Gage (Mmmm...) and added a little mystery, it was a page turner!  Skyla and Logan are together, but it seems like Gage doesn't like that.  (I think we will see more of him in books to come.) Skylar is an angel, a Celetial - the highest and purest rank among earth bound angels. But with the everyday threat of discovery and death she also battles with the annoying younger siblings, a mom she pitys and the step dad who really needs to get a life and prefferably out of hers.

Don't want to spoil the story so you will just have to read it and find out what happens!

I can't wait too see how this story turns out.  Does she stay with Logan or pick Gage instead?  Does her Mom ever wake up and leave Tad the Step-Monster?  Can Skyla rebuild the lost relationship with her sister?  And what is Logan hiding?

Die for Me

I let this book sit on my to-read shelf for too long! I really thought that it was going to be a repeat to other books I have read. Once I started reading it I could not put it down.  I LOVE the cover!  And to my surprise it was a completely new concept (to me at least).

Kate and her sister move in with her Grandparents in Paris after her Mom and Dad die in a tragic car accident in the U.S. Paris is the perfect back drop for this story.  It brings a certain romantic quality to it.  But not all is good with Kate once she gets there.  She is still giving the loss of her parents.  She tries to rid her life of all things that remind her of them.  Her sister is to busy partying to notice Kate.  Her Grandparents worry about her and suggest she get out of the house.  She visits Museums and cafes to read.  This is where she meets Vincent.  She instantly feels a connection between them but is hesitant to get close to him.

Vincent is careful so not reveal his secrets, but Kate finds out on accident. Once she does, she isn't so sure about him. He does everything he can to reassure Kate that she is safe with him and he will do anything for her.

I don't want to ruin the book for everyone, so you will just have to read it.  I am only sorry that I let it sit on my shelf for so long.  On the up side- I was able to go almost straight into the second book in the trilogy. :-)

Amy Plum is a hit!

In the City of Lights, two star-crossed lovers battle a fate that is destined to tear them apart again and again for eternity.

When Kate Mercier's parents die in a tragic car accident, she leaves her life--and memories--behind to live with her grandparents in Paris. For Kate, the only way to survive her pain is escaping into the world of books and Parisian art. Until she meets Vincent.

Mysterious, charming, and devastatingly handsome, Vincent threatens to melt the ice around Kate's guarded heart with just his smile. As she begins to fall in love with Vincent, Kate discovers that he's a revenant--an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save the lives of others. Vincent and those like him are bound in a centuries-old war against a group of evil revenants who exist only to murder and betray. Kate soon realizes that if she follows her heart, she may never be safe again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kate and Vincent have overcome the odds and at last they are together in Paris, the city of lights and love.
As their romance deepens there’s one question they can’t ignore: How are they supposed to be together if Vincent can’t resist sacrificing himself to save others? Although Vincent promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to lead a normal life with Kate, will that mean letting innocent people die? When a new and surprising enemy reveals itself, Kate realizes that even more may be at stake—and that Vincent’s immortality is in jeopardy.
In Die for Me, Amy Plum created a captivating paranormal mythology with immortal revenants and a lush Paris setting. Until I Die is poised to thrill readers with more heart-pounding suspense, spellbinding romance, and a cliff-hanger ending that will leave them desperate for the third and final novel in the series.
***The final book in the DIE FOR ME trilogy will be released in May 2013!!!***
